Rooted in Rhythm is an invitation to move from confusion to clarity and to live in conversation with your body rather than in conflict with it.
You were never meant to override your body.
You were meant to understand its rhythm.
Rooted in Rhythm is now open.
WHAT BECOMES CLEAR
As you move through these pages, confusion begins to soften.
The cycle no longer feels unpredictable.
Hormonal shifts no longer feel personal or chaotic.
Motherhood’s changes begin to make physiological sense.
You start to recognise patterns, in your energy, your mood, your appetite, your need for rest.
You understand why certain phases feel expansive, and others inward.
You see how stress, nourishment and sleep ripple through the endocrine system.
With understanding comes steadiness.
You respond instead of override.
You nourish instead of restrict.
You rest without guilt.
You begin to live in conversation with your body;
rather than in conflict with it.
This guide gives you:
• clarity when your body feels confusing
• understanding of hormonal shifts across motherhood
• the ability to recognise patterns in your energy and mood
• context for experiences like postpartum changes, breastfeeding, and cycle shifts
• a way to stop guessing, and start understanding
THE INVITATION
Modern life asks women to be linear.
Your body is not.
Energy rises and falls.
Hormones shift in patterned arcs.
Pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding reshape the endocrine system in ways few women are ever taught.
When we don’t understand this, we push through.
We override.
We blame ourselves.
But the female body is rhythmic by design.
Rooted in Rhythm is an invitation back to that design,
through physiology, nourishment, and embodied understanding
Created by a BHSc Naturopath, and mother of two little ones.
HOW THE GUIDE UNFOLDS
Rooted in Rhythm unfolds across nine foundational chapters, designed to build your understanding layer by layer.
Chapter One: The Foundations of Hormones
In this chapter, we’ll wander gently into the landscape of our hormones; those quiet messengers that shape our energy, our moods, and the ebb and flow of our days. We’ll explore what they are, how they are woven within the body, and meet the key hormones that will become familiar companions as we journey through this guide.
Chapter Two: The Cycle
The menstrual cycle is not an inconvenience. It is a rhythm. In this chapter, we trace its arc, from follicular renewal to ovulatory vitality, through the inward turning of the luteal phase and the shedding of menstruation. You will see how each phase carries its own neurological, metabolic and emotional tone. The cycle stops feeling unpredictable. It begins to make sense.
Chapter Three: The Physiology of Motherhood
Motherhood is not only a life transition; it is a profound physiological recalibration. From pregnancy through postpartum and lactation, a woman’s hormones, nervous system, and metabolism undergo extraordinary shifts. Even when the menstrual cycle rests, the body is adapting and rewiring. This chapter explores the biology of matrescence; the hormonal repatterning that carries a woman from maiden to mother, and the rhythm required to support her through it.
Chapter Four: When the Cycle Falls Out of Rhythm
In this chapter, we explore the signs and symptoms that can arise when hormonal rhythms fall out of balance. Some imbalances are subtle and functional; experienced deeply in the body, but not always captured by a formal diagnosis. Others may be conditions you already recognise or have been named by modern medicine.
This chapter is an invitation to deepen your understanding, reconnect with your body’s language, and begin to identify what your system may be asking for.
Chapter Five: A Holistic Lens
In this chapter, we turn our attention to the wider body systems that support hormonal balance, and how their health shapes the rhythm of the menstrual cycle.
Chapter Six: Living in Alignment
Modern life rarely mirrors our internal rhythms. Here we explore sleep, light exposure, stress physiology, movement, and daily practices that honour cyclical design ; even within the demands of motherhood. Alignment does not require perfection. It requires awareness.
Chapter Seven: Food as Medicine
This chapter focusses on the nutritional practices to support healthy female physiology, from the very building blocks of hormones discussed in the first chapter to the wider lens of the body as a whole; you will learn how to nourish yourself - completely as a woman. Also included is a grocery guide, and aligned recipes.
Chapter Eight: Herbal Allies
The herbs you will turn to, again and again to support your nervous system and overall wellbeing as a woman and mother.
Chapter Nine: The Cyclical Body
This chapter delves into fertility awareness, moon archetypes, and living in rhythm with your inner seasons. Essentially bringing together the foundations you’ve learnt throughout the rest of the guide, and applying them to your monthly rhythm.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is this guide suitable if my cycle is irregular?
Yes.
Irregular cycles are not excluded from this work, they are welcomed into it.
Rooted in Rhythm will help you understand the physiology behind ovulation, hormonal signalling, stress load, and metabolic health so that irregularity becomes something you can interpret rather than fear. The guide goes through several common hormone imbalance pictures such as ‘estrogen dominance’, low estrogen, pcos and the four types, high cortisol, low progesterone and more.
This guide does not diagnose.
It teaches you how to see patterns more clearly, and will give you insight if you’ve been diagnosed with one of these imbalances. There are also testing recommendations if you don’t currently have a diagnosis but suspect you have a particular imbalance.
Is this appropriate if I am postpartum or breastfeeding?
Very much so.
There is an entire chapter devoted to the physiology of motherhood, including pregnancy, breastfeeding, metabolic demand, and postpartum recalibration.
Even if your cycle has not yet returned, understanding the endocrine landscape of this season can bring steadiness and reassurance.
Do I need prior knowledge about hormones?
No.
This guide begins with foundations.
Terms are explained.
Concepts are layered gradually.
You do not need a background in science, only a willingness to understand your body more deeply.
Is this medical advice?
No.
Rooted in Rhythm is an educational resource.
It is not diagnosis or treatment, and it does not replace individualised medical care.
It is designed to give you literacy, so you can have more informed conversations with your practitioners and make more grounded decisions for yourself.
How long will I have access?
Once purchased, the guide is yours.
Move through it slowly.
Return to it in different seasons.
Let it deepen over time.
There is no expiry.
What if I feel overwhelmed by hormone information online?
That is precisely why this guide exists.
The modern wellness space often fragments the body, isolating estrogen, cortisol, thyroid, gut health; without showing how they are woven together.
Rooted in Rhythm offers a cohesive framework.
Not more noise.
More clarity.
